Liberal wanderer. We lack answers but we still have to place bets.

Rebellion is wasted. Do your thing. Take responsibility for it.

Much Christian theology outmaneuvers Christ.

Was a Prod Man but NOT here for software stuff.
It's time to admit that Portland has problems: People, with the difficulties listed at the end of Matthew 25. And pushing those problems, those people, those vulnerabilities, out of site for a bit, at great effort and expense, will not change a thing.
Portland has real problems
Soldiers are literally going to push people, "problems"...where?

I don't know what you used Twitter bookmarks for but for me they were a #readinglist, not necessarily for the tweet or the attached article but for books they referenced. Miss those book marks.
I just read this: "unusually for a professional philosopher – [Dennett] was widely read outside of academia" aeon.co/essays/as-re..., and is that really unusual? You lot never seem to stop reading Borges or Nabokov or whoever
‘As real as it ever gets’: Dennett’s conception of the mind | Aeon Essays
Often metaphorical and allusive, the philosopher’s work will long be remembered for how it grappled with everyday thought

it is a hopeful default
not a first principle

be wary of an opossum
poked once too often
it defends as best it may

I do not insult you
with trust in yours
but hope it shades our disagreement

could do an entertaining thread on comic book villains like Hammerhead, Tombstone, Wilson Fisk or superheroes like Daredevil or Batman (maybe marvel vs DC thread) and how powerful physical builds are portrayed in a suit. Exaggerated versions of your suggestions, I think...

I was diagnosed with life-threatening illness. People started trying to save my soul. I knew it would continue as I became mentally/physically weaker. So I proactively condescended that I had superior theology they needed to hear from me. *Only* if they wanted to discuss that. They lost interest.

I'm always annoyed by preachers who explain the natural disaster, epidemic or whatever, is God's response to their pet peeve, likely something to do with being gay.

Most election post mortems are like that. Harris didn't get elected because of that thing I normally go on about.
