To ensure cars didn’t just take back ownership of Paris streets as the pandemic was ending (like they did in so many cities), Mayor @annehidalgo.bsky.social made sure that 60k parking spaces and many streets were permanently transformed with restaurant seating, people-places, greening, & bike-lanes.

There are three things Northern Irish people care about more than anything else.

Tarmac, fences and farm animals

So when DfI tries to build a road by comparing the emissions to cows, that doesn't surprise me one iota

Stormont told a judge that tarmacking 3,000 acres of farmland would be less polluting than the industrial farming it has encouraged
If you want to save the environment in Northern Ireland, almost the entirety of its surface should be covered in tarmac and concrete over which cars and lorries will drive day and night.

Getting to the hospital after work without using a car is a test of patience in this joke of a country.

The trains are expensive, infrequent and nowhere near the bloody hospital. The bus from the station stops before evening visiting hours even start. 🤦

Don't worry, a car was involved so we don't need to do literally any fucking thing to keep kids safe as they go about their business in the city

It's pretty grim that we price space around an airport more than space in our city centres

Look, Belfast is bad but it's not Antrim.

The whole town is the antithesis of walkable. It's small but it's cul-de-sac and semi-D ridden with little but warehouse-style shops/retail parks and massive car parks.

*Just* 94 homes being built on this massive plot in the city centre. What a catastrophe. This council is not serious about housing people
