Thank you for reading and listening with an open heart and mind.

I hate that we’re demonizing our fellow humans, given the ones I’ve encountered are wonderful, hardworking people just trying to make a better life. Of course we all want the violent ones gone…but leave the good ones alone and give them an expedient path to citizenship! ❤️🇺🇸

And if that sentiment doesn’t compel you, at least consider they pay significantly more into taxes than they can legally access, which mathematically benefits the rest of us.

As Americans, we believe in justice, mercy, and hope. I pray we can find common ground that honors these values while keeping our communities safe and strong.

⏳ The legal immigration system is broken.
For many families and workers, there simply isn’t a legal path or the wait is decades long. They come seeking a better life for their children, just like many of our ancestors did.

🛡️ Undocumented immigrants commit fewer crimes than U.S. citizens.
This is a fact supported by multiple studies: they are 2 to 4 times less likely to be arrested for violent or property crimes and have lower incarceration rates. Obviously, there’s even more incentive for them to live by the law.

👷‍♂️ They fill jobs many Americans don’t want.
Many work in agriculture, food processing, elder care, and other tough jobs that keep our economy running. Studies show immigration helps strengthen our economy and supports Social Security for all.

🏥 They get very little in public assistance.
They receive only about 0.4% of Medicaid spending, and that’s limited to emergency care like childbirth or life-threatening injuries. They’re not eligible for welfare, food stamps, or regular Medicaid.

💰 They pay billions in taxes—even when they can’t get benefits.
In 2022, undocumented immigrants paid nearly $34 billion into Social Security, Medicare, and unemployment funds—programs they’re barred from accessing. They also pay sales and property taxes that support our schools and roads.

🙏 They’re here, but many came as children or fled hardship.
Yes, being undocumented means breaking civil immigration laws. But many were brought here as kids or escaped danger. Most have lived here over a decade, working hard, paying taxes, and contributing quietly to our communities.

It’s worse than I thought, and I already knew it was going to be staggeringly awful. I’m scared and desperately want to leave, but where could you even hide?? We’re all in danger right now.

I pray for the same —it’s one of the few glimmers of hope I have left. It breaks my heart to see how far we’ve fallen 😢
