In less than an hour, I’ll be canvassing for Imperial Beach Mayor Paloma Aguirre for the District 1 special election for the County of San Diego Board of Supervisors, which is currently split 2-2. Her opponent, Chula Vista Mayor John McCann, is anti-labor and won’t condemn ICE’s recent abuses.

This is a tough choice, but I’m going with Blockbuster Video. There’s something about browsing the aisles and either finding what you’re looking for or discovering a hidden gem. This is not an experience you can truly replicate on a streaming platform.

I might get that hat next time. I’m always a sucker for a good Padres hat, like this theme game one. Padres are playing the Mariners.

This is why you never leave a Padres game early!

I mean seriously. This is giving me early to mid-2010s Padres vibes. Even the most die-hard Angels fans will be hard pressed to remember most of these names ten years from now.

This is me at Paloma’s campaign relaunch from this morning with City Councilwoman Carolina Chavez. That she and the entire Chula Vista City Council and the Chula Vista City Attorney have endorsed Paloma instead of the Mayor of Chula Vista, John McCann, should tell you everything you need to know.

In ‘09, I had to do an entertainment industry internship to graduate from CSUF. The previous year, I wrote an essay about being Autistic that was published in a book. The career counselor told me to omit it from my cover letter. I still have this email to remind me why I fight for Autism acceptance.

Someone on Bluesky recommended “The Personal Memoirs of Ulysses S. Grant.” History has recently become a special interest of mine, so I got the annotated version from the library. It’s a good read so far. Meanwhile, while reading, Mimsie decided I wasn’t paying quite enough attention to her.

Time to introduce my cats. Winston the Orange Tabby is 11 and is named after Winston Churchill, the namesake of my alma mater, a school for students with learning disabilities. Mimsie the Calico is 8 and I named her after the kitten seen in the MTM Enterprises logo, a parody of MGM’s Leo the Lion.
