This is a horrific story. But it should signal a larger conversation about the media, truth and responsibility. I hope this young woman is able to reclaim her life.
Five weeks ago, Mary Kate Cornett was a first-year business major dating another Ole Miss student.

Then a spurious claim about her and her boyfriend’s father spread — and was amplified by Pat McAfee, Barstool personalities and others.

The *real* problem is that publicly-subsidized research is being hidden behind radically exorbitant subscriber walls, in turn paid for by publicly-subsidized institutions like university libraries. In effect, public money is paying *twice* for research, and the public STILL doesn't have access! 3/3

Hippos rule. Best terrestrial animal.
Additionally, hippos - despite being massive - have almost no fat on them. All of that impressive bulk is muscle.

2% body fat. Compare that to Elephants, which are around 8-10%, or rhinos, which are 10-20%.

The average human is around 20-40%, for reference.

They're *all* muscle.

The bulk of the right-wing commentariat has undergone a decade-long shift from near-universal antagonism to Russia to eager amplification of Kremlin propaganda.

Here's how it happened. www.mediamatters.org/trumprussia/...
The right’s decade-long lurch toward Vladimir Putin’s Russia
President Donald Trump’s actions over the past few weeks have drawn cheers from Russian President Vladimir Putin’s government — and with good reason. Trump falsely blamed Ukraine for the war that bega...

The former head of Kazakhstan’s intelligence service, Alnur Mussayev, recently claimed that Donald Trump was recruited by the KGB in 1987.

Mussayev isn’t the only ex-KGB officer to have made such an assertion.

This morning at Dept of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HQ in DC as mandatory return to office began, this video played on loop for ~5 mins on screens throughout the building, per agency source.

Building staff couldn’t figure out how to turn it off so sent people to every floor to unplug TVs.

Would it not be better to remain at peace in your own house instead of roaming the world looking for better bread than ever came of wheat, never reflecting that many go for wool and come back shorn?

Rickey: 14th all-time in WAR.
Scored 2295 runs (Freddy Freeman is the active leader with 1298).
Walked 2190 times.
Stole 1406 bases.
Won 1 MVP and deserved at least two more (finished 3rd in '85, lost to his own teammate).
28 HoF voters voted "no" and should've been kicked out of the BBWAA.
