"A professional woman game dev of a decade and a half, and an ardent fan of games of shapes and sizes. I first started the game dev life at age 7 or so on a Commodore 64 and never looked back. I love Bloody Roar so much I got Stun's beast blazon tattooed upon my person! :P" She wrote a story for the zine! Sample Writing: The clash lasted forever, and only a moment. Bone on steel, ceramic on flesh, and a sound like teeth scraping over piano wire. A roar of blood. Such violent music. Between the staccato of our blows and the screeching of our claws, one could be forgiven for an electric guitar and drums coming to mind. We separated, spacing ourselves apart, just out of immediate striking distance, as we took measure of one another. My arm was damaged, though I felt no pain. I felt nothing at all. Physically, anyway. As I beheld the figure in front of me, steam exhaled from my cold lips as if to mimic the rising of my blood. If I still possessed a heart, it would be racing with anticipation. Maybe it was, in a vat somewhere, while scum in lab coats took hurried notes. Such a satisfying foe.

Part-time author, full-time monster appreciator. As a writer of queer fiction with a yen for romance, milky.mosaic keeps zir pen sharp through frequent experiments with style and form. Be it xer signature short stories, long-running compilations, or the occasional dalliance with fictitious mods and walkthroughs, you can rely on xer to deliver top-shelf dialogue and characterization. Milky wrote two short stories for the zine! Sample Writing: Arvo walked about in a daze, clutching Szevifern’s cloak tightly closed about themself. Even wearing the gambeson donated by one of the men of Hillsfar, they still felt wholly exposed. They stood quietly by as the others discussed arrangements for the fallen. The more Arvo tried not to think about everything that had just happened, however, the more space they left for unwanted thoughts to creep in and force themselves upon them. Memories of debauchery, betrayal, carelessness, callousness, and forsaken duties all vied for their attention. It was a dizzying haze of disgust and shame intermingled that left them nauseated. And the worst part of it all was that, as much as it felt like they were being forced to watch the despicable misadventures of a complete stranger, they were fully cognizant of the fact that these memories were theirs and no one else’s.

He wrote an essay for the zine and also produced a couple of music tracks inspired by the series! Sample Writing: Series director Kenji Fukuya stated that there were some things in Bloody Roar: Extreme that don't completely come out the way that he wanted. He then joked with supervising animator Yoshihiko Umakoshi about making a TV anime for Bloody Roar. When asked if he could handle that, Umakoshi's response was, "I would die." In fact, when talking about working every character into the intro sequence, he reiterated, "I thought we were going to die." He said the original designs for the characters had a ton of detail in them, particularly for some of the beast forms. Umakoshi cited things like tiger stripes and leopard spots as being particularly difficult to draw and potentially animate. They had to reduce the amount of detail in the animated characters multiple times to be able to not just make them work, but finish the opening sequence in time for the game's release.

She's thrilled to see this project come to fruition with so many enthusiastic participants and supporters! Snoof wrote a comic and provided illustrations for the zine. Sample Writing: Driven by hunger, Reynard attempted to reach some grapes hanging high on a vine. Although he leaped with all his might, the little fox couldn't reach. Not easily deterred, Reynard enlisted the help of an old wolf. "Why are these the only grapes upon this vine?" Isengrim asked. "Surely they've been mistaken as sour," Reynard rebuffed. "Just look how ripe they are!" The wolf grumbled doubts, to which the fox tutted a promise to share the spoils. "I don't like grapes," Isengrim reminded - yet Reynard was prepared. "They'll make nice bait for dumber animals." Agreeing to this, Isengrim approached the vine. With a sly yip, the fox leapt upon the wolf and used him as a ramp. Reynard snatched the grapes between his jaws. Without looking back, he disappeared into the treeline and left poor old Isengrim dumbfounded.
