rich dudes got freakier after butlers fell out of fashion, like say what you will about having domestic servants but clearly it was some sort of moderating force on old rich dudes having a fancy man follow you around saying shit like "oh dear sir, that wouldn't be very becoming"

This impacts elections. This impacts discourse. This is major. Subscribe to support my work:

Same country that thinks it's going to deter China through offensive cyber operations, btw.

Maybe the plan is to bamboozle China by having so much insecure infrastructure that they can't decide what to hack.
FCC will vote to scrap telecom cybersecurity requirements
The commission’s Republican chair, who voted against the rules in January, calls them ineffective and illegal.

You know how billionaires end up with severe cognitive deficits as a result of becoming surrounded by yes men who constantly tell them their every idea is genius? What if we made a bot that just does that to everyone. I think that would be a good idea.

The most maddening thing is our best football this season was when we were playing on the counter, not playing endless horseshoes around the back in injury time chasing a win
“We’re not thick. We’ve been brought up the last 20 years seeing very good football, and when we see not-very-good football, we’re not saying we don’t like the philosophy, we’re saying do something to get it right.” #CFC v #LCFC - the Maresca tactics derby: www.nytimes.com/athletic/618...
Enzo Maresca and the ongoing debate – for both Chelsea and Leicester fans
