Wow the big secret's out, Hollingsworth is a tool of NIMBYs & big biz just like her mentor, never would've guessed it
“I’m gonna get in trouble for this but I don’t care. Joy Hollingsworth i gotta shout u out…I’m counting on u” oh this is so threatening and scary

With Bruce out as mayor we lose the 5,000 shelter units that existed only in his mind

"Moderate" politics here is just ppl doing stuff to other parts of the city where they don't live, never go, and couldn't care less about
Here is SPS' map of where these affordable multifamily projects have either been recently built (blue) or are planned (red). Interesting to note where they are being built versus where they are not.

Imagine how quick the mayoral election would've been decided if Wilson had a PAC with $2 million that mailed flyers to every voter in Seattle informing them "Bruce Harrell pulled a gun on a pregnant woman over a parking spot at a casino when he was just 6 years younger than Katie is now."

literally this guy

I was probably always gonna vote for Girmay but the fact that he was smart enough to not endorse Harrell (and i'm sure he got sweated hard for an endorsement) made it a very easy choice
I switched my vote from Balducci because of her endorsement.
November 12, 2025 at 6:33 PM
This is true for most if not all of the progressive Harrell endorsers. IMO it probably cost Balducci her election (lol i'm serious) but most of them will face no consequences at all for their cowardly behavior, and an election this close really underscores how f'd up it is to operate like that
Let’s be real: they picked harrell because there was no downside. They know Katie will still deal straight with them and mostly do what they advocate. If Harrell had won, they needed to curry favor.

WA Bikes should be relentlessly ridiculed for using their influence to back the guy who doesn't care about bikes in an insanely close election. At bare minimum their board should resign en masse

Beacon Hill News with Dan Hurwitz is one of the hands-down Union favorite segments and it's been a while since we've had one. Also Juno is one of our perennials. And Burl is gonna be enlist the audience in creating a backstory for his almost-stepson's stuffed dragon. This'll be a good one.

tbh this council feels more like the status quo of a suburban Ohio swing district in 2003
They had no big ideas. And the status quo they want isn’t even the status quo of now. It’s that if, like, the mid-00s that they want.

Ppl have been warning for years that all the affluent tech bros moving into the city will ultimately change the demographics & push our politics to the right. But alas, that doesn't account for the fact that our "centrists" just really do suck that bad. They have no new ideas!

I have a better win % than the Seattle Times over the past decade
Congratulations Seattle Times for a clean sweep in the 2025 election—for mayor, city attorney, and city council, all of your endorsed candidates lost!
November 12, 2025 at 3:24 AM
D3 is gonna be a very winnable seat for the left. Hollingsworth's first big move on council was to try & relitigate 15Now by creating a permanent subminimum wage, a move that horrified even normie lib voters. Since then she's been just as draconian as all her suburban-boomer-coded colleagues
2500 more people voted against Kshama's recall in a *December special election* than voted to elect Hollingsworth in a general.
this is one is for all the socialists out there

Wilson's win means an end to heavy-handed corporate patronage in the mayor's office going back to 2013, a lineage running from the serial child predator who resigned in disgrace to the mayor who inherited all his donors & teargassed the city, to the guy who supported both of them to the bitter end
