I’ve wondered the same about some of the vets who take a Cotton-like position. They tend to have chips on their shoulders over JAGs that got in their way. Some of them dirty consciences.

Great thread. One of the contributors to these people’s vulnerability to this kind of content is that many have very little understanding of how anything in government, so these absurd ideas find purchase in their oblivious brains.

On one level, it has been fascinating to watch world leaders pivot from being confrontational with Trump to just appeasing his most base desires for empty, obsequious praise. Just demonstrates how vulnerable he is to the kind of facile manipulation a parent uses on a toddler.
