And now we have the name of the alleged Cybertruck bomber. Another US Army vet. And yet the right-wing narrative machine is fixated upon a leftist “enemy within” and a civilizational, Islamist “enemy without”. Anything to avoid confronting the military service-extremism link.
So, we now have the name of the alleged New Orleans attacker. Across the right-wing media ecology, the usual suspects are frothing over the presence of an ISIS flag — all while ignoring the suspect’s US Army service — and the all-too-predictable links b/w military training and extremist violence.

The new laws aren't intended to *fix* homelessness. They criminalize it so that the poor can be used as free prison labor to benefit capital and also disenfranchised (i.e., stripped of their votes). Same strategy used in the war on drugs: make laws to turn political foes into felons and non-persons.
The burst of new laws follows a landmark Supreme Court ruling and reflects public frustration with record-high homelessness. But advocates say fines and jail time will only make the problem worse.
