Joy to the free spirits
who refuse to be
anything other than
shadow and light,
the good kind,
the tension of duality,
the miracle of human
consciousness.

Joy to those who
refuse to turn unkind,
holding compassion
like a sword.

Joy to the empaths
wounding their hearts
to feel another's pain.

Jungian lesson: Your unconscious runs the show, whether you like it or not.

Be Ignore it, and it’ll show up as anxiety, bad decisions, or even physical symptoms.

Pay attention to your inner world—it’s trying to help.

Necessary reading. Having seen the Chilean writer Benjamin Labatut speak at the Nexus conference in Amsterdam, I ended up devouring his two books in quick succession: When We Cease to Understand the World (2021) and The MANIAC (2023). Extremely scary, deeply impressive, and strongly recommended.
