Hi everyone, I am here to inform you all that dog

LET’S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
November 5, 2025 at 2:35 AM
(Day 4) Finally, it was time to head to the airport and fly home. I had a wonderful time in Reykjavík and the time was too short! I want to go back to Iceland someday and see more of the countryside. But for now, this was just the little adventure I needed.
November 4, 2025 at 6:49 PM
(Day 4) I woke up a few hours before check-out, so I took another walk around Reykjavík to take a few last photos, including the Sun Voyager sculpture along the water. Also stopped by a couple of stores for gifts and souvenirs!
November 4, 2025 at 6:47 PM
(Day 3) Finally, I stopped by a gelato place near my hotel for a late dessert. I had blueberry skyr cake gelato and crème brûlée gelato; I loved the blueberry skyr cake flavor quite a lot! Afterward I went back to my hotel to pack most of my things and wind down for the night.

(Day 3) When I was walking back to the hotel, I noticed that the Northern Lights were visible! I was so excited to see them a second time, so I took more pictures. It was a bit tougher to get good pics with the city lights, but here are a few of my favorites:

(Day 3) I believe the presenter essentially said that they transport some form of lava sand from the south part of Iceland up to Reykjavik, and then heat it all up in a furnace to create the lava for the show. Pretty awesome!
November 4, 2025 at 6:34 PM
(Day 3) I went to a lava show! Definitely a tourist-y thing, but they make actual lava and let it flow into the auditorium! It was really neat to see it in person and learn more about the history of volcanic activity in Iceland.
November 4, 2025 at 6:32 PM
(Day 3) Dinner! I went to the Seafood Grill and had a lovely little booth in the corner where I could watch the people walking by outside. The food was excellent—very good bread, langoustine tacos, and the catch of the day which was ling fish (a cod-like member of the eel family).
November 4, 2025 at 6:28 PM
(Day 3) The snowfall cleared up by the time we got back to the harbor, so I got a couple of pics (including one of Iceland’s “two coast guard ships” according to the tour guide), and got myself a snack before heading back to the hotel for a break.

I VOTED YOU SHOULD TOO
November 4, 2025 at 2:44 PM
(Day 3) The whale watching, as expected, was uneventful. There were many families on the boat, and for the most part we stayed huddled in reasonably comfortable quarters below deck. But I did go up top several times to brave the wind and snow and look out at the waters.
November 3, 2025 at 7:56 PM
(Day 3) I had a whale watching cruise booked for the afternoon, although with the snow and visibility I didn’t have high hopes. On my walk to the harbor, I stopped to get an Icelandic hot dog. I later had a Bailey’s coffee while waiting to board the whale watching boat.
November 3, 2025 at 7:51 PM
(Day 3) I learned later that the snowfall on this day set a record for October snowfall in Reykjavík. Many of the stores ended up closing, and all Iceland flights that day were cancelled! Luckily things were fine for my flight the next day.
November 3, 2025 at 7:47 PM
(Day 3) Later in the morning I went back out to go have breakfast with my aunt, who was also on a trip in Reykjavík by coincidence! I took some more snowy photos along the way.
November 3, 2025 at 7:43 PM
(Day 2-3) I spent about 45 minutes walking around the area before the city started to wake up, but it was a lovely little surprise and possibly my favorite moment of the trip, other than seeing the Northern Lights.
November 1, 2025 at 7:33 PM
(Day 2-3) It was early enough that most people were still asleep, so I basically had the streets of Reykjavik to myself. It felt like my own little secret liminal space, a living snowglobe that only I inhabited for a long moment. It felt magical.
November 1, 2025 at 7:28 PM
(Day 2-3) My migraine got worse on the way back to the hotel so I went to bed very early and stayed there for 11 hours. By around 5AM the migraine was gone and I was wide awake. And it was snowing; the quiet, peaceful kind of snow that I love the most. So as the city slept, I went out for a walk.
November 1, 2025 at 7:23 PM
(Day 2) Here’s a quick 360 view from the waters of the Blue Lagoon.
November 1, 2025 at 4:58 PM
(Day 2) Blue Lagoon! The spa and pool are man-made, but the water is totally heated by geothermal activity. Despite the migraine I had a relaxing time in the heated water! The air temp was in the mid-30s so I had to keep re-wetting my hair before it froze. Probably didn’t help my head. 😅
November 1, 2025 at 4:55 PM
(Day 2) Slept in and woke up with a migraine (silver lining to this later) but managed to get myself up and moving as I’d booked a low-key trip to the Blue Lagoon. Started off with grabbing a kanilsnúður (cinnamon roll) and walking around the city center before heading to the bus station.
November 1, 2025 at 4:45 PM
(Day 1) After napping at the hotel for a few hours, I got myself up to go on a Northern Lights hunt! Our guide took us to Hvalfjörður, an hour from Reykjavík. The skies were clear and we saw the Milky Way, several shooting stars, and… the Northern Lights! I’d never seen them before, I was so happy.
October 31, 2025 at 2:47 PM
Day 1) We also saw some other parts of the city while walking between restaurants, including the statue of Jón Sigurðsson, the parliament building (yes it’s that small), the prime minister’s office (yes you can walk right up to it), and some cat street art that I sent to a few of my friends.
