74 years ago today, the fed gov’t announced it was “taking by declaration” 200,000 acres in rural SC to build the Savannah River Plant to make the materials for a hydrogen bomb to fight the Russians. It’s the backdrop to my next novel, tentatively titled THE MIRACLE OF EULA BATES. #eulabates
