I mostly make stuff. Often it's trouble.
The garlands I made from Nana's wooden spools looks amazing! I love them.

So I've had some scraps of cork kicking around since I make the kids custom cork boards (years, ok, it's been years) and today, I finally had an idea to use them up along with some chalkboard cricut vinyl I got on clearance. Reusable gift tags. I can just write on them with a chalkboard pen.

And so it begins. Goat cheese, hummus, olives and the last daikon from the garden with whole grain sourdough oat crackers.

OK #quiltsky how old are these quilting templates? It's been at least 20 years since Wrights closed in West Warren, MA.

That's why I ever give any of my whole wheat sourdough loaves away... mine!

Who has suggestions for grocery shopping around Methuen until the latest Artie T thing is resolved? Aldi in Salem just sucks. Two weeks in a row no milk and their customer service is for shit. This is the second week in a row there's been no milk. Like none. And empty cases. Are they going bankrupt?

I was today years old when I found out Bill Ackman was from Pleasant Valley in Methuen?

🎶I used up all the cabbage🎶
🎶I used up all the cabbage🎶

The last head is in the crockpot with some carrots, onion, and garlic to go with a ham steak for dinner.

Still have two giant Korean daikon radishes left...

And that's the end of today's adventures in kimchi making. Remember folks, don't open the door if your super fucking cheap sibling gets a deal on cabbage and radishes.

I got this cool fermentation container one christmas that's perfect for making kimchi. The lid has a valve.

The amount of time and money shoe companies invest in these fabrics and designs is nuts. We have a whole New Balance r&d and manufacturing facility down the road, when ppe was scarce they were able to engineer actual N95s out of sneaker materials, it was wild.

Years ago, I inherited everything in my Nana's sewing room including her thread stash. Most of the thread was just too old to use, so I cut it from the wooden spools and tucked them away. I found a bag of wooden beads for a couple bucks and today I turned them into garlands for the Christmas tree.

The garden is starting to wind down except for the cool season stuff like the Korean daikon and Japanese turnips. I learned this year that both avocado squash (summer) and red kuri squash (winter) will happily grow up a trellis BUT next year I do some pruning or they run wild. Look at this guy!

I once sewed together almost 3,000 one inch hexagons by hand. The whole family is like this. We married people like us. Kiddos are not really a surprise...
