9. The wave of anti-LGBTQ+ laws does not necessarily reflect growing hostility from the general public but rather a reactionary backlash against increasing social acceptance. That acceptance will be crucial in resisting and ultimately overcoming the current wave of discrimination.

I’m surprised but grateful they haven’t done it yet. If they want to stop new research with these terms they’ll definitely want to take down old research. Erased as if it never existed.

Though I have to note that it's so weird to simultaneously think: "Emily would certainly have lots to say about the role of libraries in democracy" and "By the time this conference happens in a few months, I dont know if libraries will still exist or if the US will still BE a democracy."

Ok, good to know some appts happened. I personally know two people whose appts were cancelled. One of whom directly asked if it was related to Tuesday's communication from the government and they confirmed that yes, that was the reason for the cancellation.

Ok good to know at least some happened. Our provider called me today and told me about yesterday's meeting. Sounds like they have a lot of support, but I'm sure it is terrifying nonetheless.

Oh wait, the map you have doesnt have Michigan on it. The one I looked up a few days ago had listed Michigan as having a smaller population. Maybe they fixed the map!

No it looks like the population of Michigan is higher than LA County, whereas all the other states the population is less than LA County.

I didnt believe this yesterday so I started looking up populations, and with the exception of Michigan, it's accurate. I was blown away. I had NO idea.
