This same logic could be used to justify taking away alcohol, unhealthy foods, or forcing vaccinations, among other things.

For example, if someone uses meth, it usually causes permanent issues in the brain and even directly alters behavior in destructive ways. It doesn't always, though. If the community bans it/makes it illegal, this takes away that person's freedom for the good of the community.

What is the point of life if we can't be ourselves without getting shunned or worse?
How can we retain freedom for individuals while also seeking a just and healthy society?
