There seems to be a vested interest in sacrificing the disabled for capitalism’s worst impulses. It’s never framed this way by media who rarely speak to the disabled but it’s true.

When are the people of substance in the Democratic coalition going to take corporate conservadems to task for regularly allowing the disabled to come to harm. It’s not like they aren’t 26% of the country according to the CDC + caretakers. Republicans want them dead and these 8 + Schumer don’t care.

Cowardly ConservaDems would rather work to address the complaints of rich able bodied white republicans than anyone in their base who is disabled, could die as a result of this and voted for them.

“Free market solutions” are what gave us the worst healthcare in the first world. The only way to profit is to deny care. The only way to have medical bankruptcies are “free market solutions”. At no point will saving your own life be a “market based choice” instead of a coerced one.

Health savings accts are for small incidentals not a replacement for the ACA.

These injustices are determined to remove the rest of the VRA for La. to allow a state that’s 33% black (census) with 2/6ths of districts to now give Dems only 1 district. This accounts for no other groups. They are focused solely on removing any electoral chances Dems have in a more purple state.

True, but FDR held a massive supermajority in 1937-38 with 78 out of 96 seats in the Senate and 334 out of 435 seats in the House.
So his claim that we were near civil war because of New Deal debt seems off.

I had to have several fights about injecting politics into StarWars while I was living in post Katrina NOLA which informed a lot of the idea. There were compromises, the pitch was more overt but ultimately some of it stayed. Future stories benefit from the fights creators are willing to have today.

When you say “normal StarWars” please know that when I wrote the plot to how the Death Star plans were obtained in the comics. The empires greatest weapon without a DeathStar was colonialism. That colonialism created a civil war that allowed for the heist.
