I suspect a T. Rex with swords tied to its arms would be most likely to injure itself. All they have to do is taunt it until it flails itself to death.

A Purple Heart or Silver Star is a badge of honor, but they won't feed, house, or clothe the vets who earned them, much less make their injuries whole.

Weird, seems like if your leader keeps tanking winning approaches, you should probably replace him with someone who wants your side to win.

I'm betting she'd have read the same report card with dismay if it'd been for her daughter.

Universities: We can't censor hate speech, even if it's harassment. Students should expect college to expose them to different perspectives.

Dems had such a good hand, and the GOP was shooting itself in the foot every other day. And Schumer blew it because he doesn't see serving the American people as an aspect of his job, much less the priority.

I don't know why they're so obsessed with replicating the human form, which, let's face it, is not exactly great (although it is pretty versatile).
(I do know. It's because they want to own people and this is their effort to approximate that.)

Charlie Schumer is more concerned with being a team player for the opposing side than with the constituents who will lose healthcare, continue losing jobs, and still aren't getting their SNAP benefits.

But you can't pour from an empty pitcher.
(I'm glad for pet accounts and movies and photoshops and puns on here, but I still set up a "trauma relief" feed for when I just need a break from *gestures*)

No one can guarantee absolute safety... but the JOB is to look at factors that we know increase risk and work tirelessly, endlessly, to abate them. This is entirely why we have safety regulations, and why we can never just shrug and say "oh well!"

I am going to guess that he simply has never had experience with being uninsured, and doesn't understand on a visceral level what it's like to have no safety net for serious illness.

Redirecting someone out of a doom spiral and into something that makes them feel some joy seems pretty damn therapeutic to me.
People would rather chastise someone for getting therapy than get therapy.

I immediately thought of this, and it would have been a very different movie.
a man is playing a saxophone in front of a fire while a woman plays drums in the background .
Alt: a gyrating, muscle-bound, shirtless man with a mullet and an industrial chain necklace is playing a saxophone in front of a fire.

I read Gone with the Wind* over 4 decades ago, and this observation has stuck with me, and seems to hold some truth even now:
*(Please, no lectures on how awful a book that softens and sympathizes with the slaver Confederacy is; I know.)
