I saw orange-crowned warblers and both goldfinches today too! Though I guess the goldfinches are not quite as yellow at the moment.

I played an arrangement of Appalachian Spring in concert band one year and it was definitely the highlight of that program!!

Now that I imagine it, if this were brought up in classrooms I could totally see a high schooler having their mind blown and going down a rabbit hole upon getting home eventually leading to the discovery that math is about more than just memorizing equations but understanding the broader patterns.

Good response! I think some people (I did for sure) also take the existence of the quadratic formula for granted at first. I remember being shocked to learn that cubic and quintic formulae were so much harder, and quintic impossible, even though they don't feel that different from the quadratic.
