2. They force the GOP to take a public stand on healthcare funding. Even if the GOP doesn't hold a vote as promised, the GOP still has to publicly refuse to do so. So, whether it is as a party or individually, Dems can still name and shame in 2026.

1. They negotiated to keep the Government Accountability Office funded and independent as part of the spending bull, which will help them keep (some) control of Trump's desire to use unilateral power over budgetary matters.

There were no mayday calls, which could speak to sudden sinking due to one or more rogue waves.

Also interesting that the ship sunk 550 ft deep but the ship itself is 729 ft long, so its possible the front of the ship hit the bottom while the back of the ship was still above the water.

The captain was known for saying "can't make money with an empty ship" and he felt empowered by the ship's size to keep running in bad weather. One of the prevailing theories as to why it sunk was poor maintenance of the hatches, which caused it to take on water quickly.
