The “VW bus” comment is not a knock, it’s more “that’s not at all the peaceful vibe of a VW bus, so that’s wildly inappropriate to make it a war van” comment

I thought about getting the black/black paint scheme and making an A team replica with a red stripe and fat lipped rims, but a) it’s a VW bus, b) $70K+ and c) low 200+ mile range means 100+ when it gets chilly. It’s an EV with the interior space I want and fits in my not-deep garage, though.

There’s a reason doors open outward in large public buildings with pushbars and not handles. To remove friction in extraordinary situations.

“Mom, Dad, welcome to the back seat of my Model Y. Before we get going, I need to remind you of how to exit this car if the power is out in an accident. The handle might not work. I know, I know. You have to reach down between your legs, fish a cable from a flap and pull to open the door.”

These highly exaggerated takes are so tiresome and actually dangerous. We are in for a world of hurt in a few years if we dissuade anybody from the medical profession with this kind of nonsense.
