“Hey Brandon, do you think that camera USB cord is to close to your 2nd floor tom?” “No, I’m sure it’ll be fine.”

It’s been 15 years since Outside Royalty played our last show. This clip is one of my favorites ever taken of us. This is from Amneville, France, on show 13 of a 28-show tour, so we were firing on all cylinders. Love the backbeats way over the head and the doubled vocals.

Oakland was NOT fucking around yesterday.

(Keep in mind, there were also separate protests in Berkeley and San Francisco)

Having a tough day at work? Take five minutes and just rip some stupid drummy shit out. Guaranteed stress relief. 😂

New camera. Still learning my way around this hybrid rig. Starting to feel pretty comfortable on it. When the drum machine knobs get twisted to the extreme ends of the spectrum, it feels like changes my playing. Love the super long clap decay on the snare rim here. At times feels like a china cymbal

Messing around with triggering an analog drum machine from acoustic drums. No samples here - everything is generated in real time from an analog synth.

15 years ago today, Outside Royalty played our largest show ever. Over 11,000 people in Milan, Italy. What a night!

Pinning this because it’s definitely the most representative clip of MY drumming that I’ve ever seen. It’s from a session at drum camp last summer, and I love how many of my little “things” get captured here. If you like this performance and would like me to play for you / with you, reach out.
