I want to share something I am super proud of and that is the fact that my yard is exploding with lightning bugs. We have friends a mile up the road who have none. It ✨matters✨ what you do with your space. Your actions have consequences. It’s okay to hope for good things. That’s all.

The farm I get my CSA drop from had a bunch of tomato plants that they gave away for free (they took off too quickly) so I got a few varieties to try my hand at at home this season and a bunch for friends around town. They’re so cute. 🌱🥹

Owen was an old man when his owner died and the cops pepper sprayed him and let him sit in it for 48 hours.
Briggs was smuggled out before euthanization because no human could go near him.

Pawpaws are tough to get going so I didn’t have a ton of hope there but the thing that got them was groundhogs and squirrels. The groundhogs around here are no joke. They will fight your animals. They all open carry. They’re wild.

Today’s CSA delivery has potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, red cabbage, kale, parsley, two different kinds of additional greens, and purple daikon radishes. 🌱
