Whooooo ok so I know I have a lot of new followers so maybe I need to say it

I'm Jewish, I'm anti-Zionist. I believe there is a genocide in Gaza, and I do believe Israel is an apartheid state.

None of that speaks to the conditions of Jews outside Israel or antisemitism as opposed to anti-Zionism

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.

This is important to know about—it’s a common Covid outcome! One of my many scary first year of #LongCovid symptoms was not being able to breathe almost any time I tried to eat. It would start a few bites in & I would gasp for air for the next two hours, my lungs refusing to open properly
So I try not to give too many gory details about life with long covid, but I also think it’s important to give a clear picture of what can happen to anyone.

Over the last yearish, I’ve become allergic to more than 70 foods. Today I lost soy. I’m not how long I can keep eating at all.

Man that Aileen Wournos doc goes hard. Honestly deserved a better name

I thought I was already about as sympathetic to her as I could be but this leaned FAR less into the sensationalization and more into the political/religious climate in FLA and whoooo....

It’s not age, it’s intelligence, fitness, undying passion for all stations of people wherever we hail from n to unite us in a strong democracy as stewards of our beautiful country, and fire in to belly at 84

If you take your issues out on convention staff it's going to make me ask questions about a) your integrity and b) your ability to accurately attribute and focus on the right thing when you're upset

tl;dr I am judging whoever did this very hard right now
Hey #KubeCon, be extra kind to the staff today. One of them I chatted with yesterday whispered to me that people were giving them a hard time today

“Oh you think Schumer should step down well what would YOU do in that situation” is my favorite horrible counterargument because a shareholder does not have to personally headhunt a replacement if they vote to oust someone from a board, but if you dislike a politician you better have binders ready

For everyone who wanted a "Ben Shapiro for the left," this is what it looks like.
The Stancil Shufle (aka concern trolling)

1. Posit unsupported "concern" as fact*
2. Get dunked on
3. Ignore majority of critiques only engaging with weak ones
4. Move goalposts and act like victim
5. Claim victory in totality.

*Often multiple disparate conclusions at once to facilitate 3.

This is what I try to always tell people: food banks can do way more with your money than you can, due to bulk buying deals. And they can do way, way more with your money than with the canned goods you didn’t want to eat
spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

the bluesky corporate security are as bad at public relations as they're terrible at public policy.
Our policy has been not to comment on individual accounts. You end up having to litigate every case in public, and we don’t have the capacity for infinite debates in public.

Then there’s also the consequences such as the increased litigation and bad actors gaming your systems.

You don't know if what's in the image has already been covered in the text.

A one-sentence description would let you know what it is, & that someone bothered to create access.

This is a hell of a piece. Read it.
