I found a big sign at the thrift shop with some live/laugh/love stuff on it, so I painted over that with my to-do list. Feel free to make it yours, too.

Making it just under the wire, but I completed my last book for #SBTBingo last night (the lovely In Case You Read This by Edward Underhill). Full blackout achieved! And now to read something outside of romance for the first time in 2 months 😆

One book to go for a full #SBTBingo blackout. Pretty good for someone who started reading romance less than 2 years ago (personal summer challenge for myself!) @smartbitches.bsky.social

I too am on my way to an EGOT

I survived watching the Nate Bergatze Emmys, the Jo Koy Golden Globes, and the James Franco Oscars.

yea 100% this. I am anti-bit and pro-speeches always.
What pisses me off about this deducting money from a charity bit is that it assumes the viewers want the speeches to be short. And we don't, at least not all of us!

Why do awards shows constantly try to tell the few people who still watch them that they are dumb for liking them?

11 more days for #SBTBingo. 4 books to go, 2 of which are in-progress. This has been a challenge for me as a newer romance reader!

Three weeks to go, and it'll be a stretch, but I'm still going for a full blackout. If nothing else, I can definitely get that middle line. #SBTBingo

@louispeitzman.bsky.social @danemcdonald.bsky.social listening to and enjoying the pod. One simple request. As Letterboxd users, I assume your “most watched” actor at the end of the year will be Amy Adams. I would love if you both could report on your *second* most watched come December.

True: @zohranmamdani lives in 1 unit of rent-stabilized housing.

Also true: Andrew Cuomo oversaw the loss of 96,064 units of rent-stabilized housing. And killed NYC’s program helping people move out of shelter.

Leaders must show moral clarity. Andrew, time to move out. 🧵

One great thing about the amazing commercial year Warner Bros. is having (Minecraft, Sinners, Final Destination, Superman) is that all of its successes stem from letting filmmakers with strong visions put their stamp on the material. It cuts against a lot of recent Hollywood conventional wisdom.

I only remember small details about our family trips as kids, but of the ones I do, these are spot on.

If you read the article, this is hardly open (it was done at a private event and then clips were shared with press later). I don’t have any positive feelings toward Bush, but I find with Obama the same issue as with the leaders of the Dems, just completely unprepared for the moment. We need more!

Just finished I Shall Never Fall in Love by @haridraws.bsky.social. READ THIS BOOK!! If I had a kid, I would buy it for them, but as an adult, it’s just as meaningful. Especially loved the “history corner” after the book ended and how thorough it was. Can’t wait to read more of the author’s work.
