Here's an example of a scam email from an account that does not end in the bookendsliterary(dot)com format. This is a fraudulent email impersonating one of our agents. It even included an attachment with a fake contract from Penguin Random House. (6/8)

Agents will not reach out from any free email addresses outside of our domain, which end in (at) bookendsliterary (dot) com—not gmail.

If you haven’t had an offer call/Zoom with the agent, it may be a scam. We'll never send an agency contract without speaking to you first. (5/8)

Beware of websites and social media profiles (primarily on X/Twitter) pretending to be our agents or clients.
