What I'm getting at is that for all of the tremendous downsides of AI, the best use I can come up with could easily be beaten by paying an untrained stranger $5 to read a paragraph and describe what it says.

The written word shillelagh (in my head Shill E Loghh) was completely disconnected from the spoken word "Shi-lay-lee" for me until I was an adult.

A lot of my early reading was from Infocom games. I remember typing "PUSH ONION N" a lot.
I also remember having to look up shillelagh in the dictionary.

Let's do this, except the robots follow police around and stop them any time they engage in unethical conduct.

I feel like it's maybe useful as part of the editing phase, like maybe having it describe one of your characters or their speaking style to see if it matches up to your intent. But of course, a human is going to be much better at that job.
Also, AI would probably steal your manuscript for training.

As long as the missiles are unguided tubes powered by rocket candy fuel, I'm sure we'll be able to shoot them down.

The Python Software Foundation is a 501(c)(3) so if your company has a donation matching program, see if they're on the list.

I got my donation doubled!

I read the rest of the article. Felice sucks really bad. I'm glad her favorite candidate lost.

I think this shows the value of true enthusiasm. A "least worst" candidate might earn reluctant votes, but it doesn't get people to advocate on your behalf.

Just had a flashback to a line from this song/rant:
> Where did American know-how go
> Why do Japanese build better stereos
> Is it 'cos our best minds can't get a job?
> Except when they help make toys for the Pentagon

I have a brain problem where every time I see "Staten Island" I think it's referring to Coney Island, so for like a half minute I was thinking about the beach being a little less crowded and shorter lines for the rides.

I'm not going to abandon my principles, but this is the kind of billionaire that we can maybe find a diversion program for or something.
