I’ve developed patience overtime. Me in my early 20s would snap on any and everyone when my patience was tested. I thank God for building that in me. It allowed me to observe and access before just jumping to conclusions.

This. Since it’s white people who need to do some heavy lifting, they need to be asking other prominent white people to effectively communicate to those who need convincing.
The people who need to hear that message won’t hear it from Obama anyway. But some will hear it from W, Romney, Dick Cheney, Paul Ryan and even Mike Pence. If all of them went hard, it might matter. All of them pointedly did not endorse in 2024 cuz they know what’s up, but none of them said shit.

I was asked a question at the recent ASALH Conference in Pittsburgh - How does a woman born/raised in the suburbs write such powerful poetry in the theme of Black oppression, Black Power? The Black experience is everywhere, no where is a safe haven.
