Iran has one of the most beautiful film cultures in the world w/among the most courageous & committed filmmakers. It was a cultural hub - it's worth looking into who overthrew their democratically-elected government when it refused to cede oil rights to the UK & installed a radical quisling puppet.

A girl I knew in college saw David Lynch speak at an event. When it ended, she found a way to get to the front to tell him how much his films and shows meant to her.

You’ll probably see this screenshot floating around a lot but it really was wonderful to see Lynch put a scene in Twin Peaks: The Return where he has his character literally stare at the camera and say that you should either support trans people or die. I needed to hear that in 2017

I got to be friends with David Lynch when we were both at Universal years ago. A very kind man, he was a fan of Bob's Big Boy. So was I. I'm going to miss him. R.I.P. David.

Those gofundmes some of you are complaining about are the only thing keeping Palestinians in Gaza alive. There are many governments who could intervene & say "if regular people can get money to Palestinians to buy food, so can we" but nobody has said that. Everything happening in Gaza is intentional
