During his service, he traveled the world and saw the best and worst of humanity, and he raised me to be anti-war based on his experiences. He instilled his values in me, and I carry them with me every day. They make me who I am.

Today, on Veterans Day, I can't help but think of my father, one of my heroes in life. He served in the Navy in Vietnam as a young man; he chose the Navy because his older brother was in the Army and told him to avoid it.

Today, I stood with local #Starbucks workers at their practice picket, in anticipation of their national strike vote next week. If workers vote to strike, I will be alongside them as they stand up to corporate greed.
