This pavilion at the Toledo Museum of Art houses its glass collection. The glass walls dissolve and become immaterial but they are also often reflective, distorting or obscuring the views, making the glassed-in spaces, paradoxically, labyrinthian.

Erich Mendelsohn
One of four synagogues Mendelsohn completed in America, only the south wing (with the dome) was completed in his lifetime, in 1950. The north wing and bridge over the ravine, were later.
The building is sadly now abandoned.

Opened in 2007, the bridge spans the Maumee River and has a single pylon suspending six lanes of traffic. The suspended sections stretch north and south of the pylon by 200m on each side. Toledo, OH, is the Glass City.
