Think of all the journos hunting for a "wild cat seen in countryside" story who'll get eaten by bears instead.

If that second one had not been given at the other end everyone living within a half-mile radius of me would hear "IT HIT HIS FUCKING SHOULDER"

"Guilt by implication, by association"? :D

Linus was a notable asshole even by cat standards but eating cheeseburgers with her while she was on her way out was great fun.

I'm always really strict with what the cats can have, and the wife is the lenient one. If I ever get my way and talk her into a dog, I'm pretty sure there'll be a role reversal there.

Commentator on my stream went from "you gotta be careful about reading too much into qualification campaigns, remember when the Germans went unbeaten in the lead-up to their 2018 humiliation?" (well, yes) to "ENGLAND ARE EUROPE'S STANDARD SETTERS" within 5 minutes.

All of the rumours keeping me grounded,
I never said, I never said,
That they were completely unfou-hounded...

Oh, wait, not the Morrissey Speedway.

The quip about uni politics being so bitterly fought precisely because there is so little at stake counts double for local politics.

As they say over here in GER:
Enemy -> Arch Enemy -> 'Parteifreund'

As somebody who voted LibDem back when I lived in the UK, it's always odd when they're actually doing well and people are talking about them for the right reasons (HI MR. OPIK!).

Also get why it's irritating. The good news for Rich is that the next step is "self-inflicted disaster".

I mean, who's the performative, phoney ones here? Vance and Bondi or her?
November 16, 2025 at 5:03 PM
See, I think it is more or less exactly the other way round: She really believed all that crazy shit. And she's just found out that most of her party - starting with Trump but the vast majority taking their queues from that - has only been acting crazy.

And she's not letting it go.

Not sure "sane" is the best word for it, but as Ms Fledermaus noted, she's at least consistent in her insanity.

Back in the late 90s, on the UK side, stuff would go missing.

I swear there's some former customs guy, old now and forgotten all about it, but I KNOW FOR A FUCKING FACT that he ate like 237 packets of popcorn my Mum bought at the Kirmes and tried to send over.

Robin Williams does a great "Come Together", Jim Carrey does a fantastic "I am the Walrus", and the Jeff Beck version of "A Day in the Life" is probably the best bit.

I can tell you where the Connery is from!

George Martin (of Beatles producer fame) did an album in 1998 (also called 'In My Life') where he basically had all kinds of artists he always wanted to work with do covers of Beatles tracks he thought appropriate for them.
