Alan Cummings was absolutely immense as Mr R and there were some genuine scares. I didn't mind the fan bit and I'm thoroughly intrigued to know what the deal with May 24th is and who Mrs Flood is. I'm hoping my Davies delivers on both. On this basis, it looks like he might just do that

Overall, a much more solid, enjoyable episode than I was expected from the trailers and publicity. That means the episodes I am excited about should be amazing. I just hope this isn't echoing Sylvester McCoy. He had an excellent last season too...

It wasn't perfect. The dialogue veered from the sparkling "timey wimey? Am I six?" to some clunky exposition, and I'd question whether the incel line was absolutely necessary. And as for the cat...didn't like that and yet I've probably watched hundreds of humans die like that in Who!

I loved the design work, especially the rather Flash Gordon rocket and the robots' guns. I'll swear I had one like that in the 70s that shot sparks. I'm not usually a fan of cutesy robots (hated Gadget in Waters of Mars) but the polish bot was adorable and I want one

But, and this is the point of this thread, there has never, ever been a time I wanted the show to be cancelled just because there were things I didn't like. I waited for better things and they always came. I'd quite to be able to continue doing that please.

I liked a lot of the McGann movie but hated the proposed plans for how it might continue. In the modern era, I wasn't keen on the Slitheen, The End of Time, the whole death of the Doctor and its resolution thing, the Monks episodes, Missy's redemption arc, Orphan 55 and Space Babies

I thought Tom Baker stayed too long and I was very much ready for him to leave. I don't think Warriors of The Deep is all that bad, but Time Flight is. I didn't particularly enjoy the Colin Baker era or the start of the McCoy years. The later McCoy years were great.

I should add that I'm not saying the show is perfect, but then I can't think of one season since the show began that has been. I find The Sensorites very slow, The Invasion takes too long to get going, but is ace when it does and The Mind of Evil is dull.
