Yes?

I mean, when I posted that I had in mind repentance for enabling Trump the clearly perverse man. But I don’t see a way forward for American evangelicals without some kind of aligned and honest repentance.

Well really, we should be doing this on the regular, period.

I agree. He’s transparently doing political theory. But he’s not doing good political theology.

and that someone is you right???
November 11, 2025 at 8:15 PM
yeah, I think you nail it right here: "our stories of what the Bible says are so far apart."

It's incredibly difficult. And I'm right with you—I don't know how to break through. I've tried. But it's like we're on different channels entirely.
November 11, 2025 at 6:42 PM
Right, so the folks I'm studying don't actually believe that the church = Israel, or that we are a modern theocracy. Many are covenantal, but their logics for state capture aren't covenantal. This is what makes Wolfe so novel.
November 11, 2025 at 6:41 PM
Yeah, good point on the taxonomy here.

Wolfe is technically 2K, but rejects its modern expressions (like Micheal Horton, I believe). He criticizes them for being too influenced by political liberalism.

it often gives them cover for "common sense" beliefs about reality, rather than drawing out a biblical logic / ethic.
November 11, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Yeah, that's fair. Wolfe *is* explicit on that point.

I guess what I'm saying is that when they do use the Bible, their exegesis sucks. And their credibility on this front should be regularly challenged.

This is esp. important, I think, because while they are big on natural law, >
