PNW Beachbum. Born on a farm at 313 ppm CO2. Incurable lefty. Banjo enthusiast with a large collection of lucky sticks.
A rare forest sea lion. Seen a few miles up the Chehalis river from Aberdeen, Wa. King tides, high winds, and flooding rains seem to have brought him inland.

I had to move quickly and the quality of the exposure is unfortunate, but I was able to capture these two fey-folk tending the moss on a log fallen in the dark pond.

In Autumn the water level in the pond is very low and the water lilies are falling back for the season. This Great Blue Heron finds the hunting easy in this shallow water and here is swallowing a frog.

Lightning chapel.
This old lightning struck red cedar is all that is left standing of the old growth forest which has been clear cut several times. You can walk inside and look up at the sky.

Telephoto of sunset over the North Pacific. The sun's disk is distorted by clouds on the horizon.
Thinking of the formation now of a new heat "blob" between Japan and PNW, larger and warmer than the first 10 years ago. Marine life has still not recovered from the first.

My father also worked to destroy fascists from 1941-45.

And let's not forget the Republican president of Columbia University who rose to be POTUS after leading the triumphant antifa forces in Europe. President Dwight D. Eisenhower. Antifa 5 star general.

The Tyler Robinson of St George, Washington County, Utah (where the family lives) shown on this FEC report donated $225 to the Trump campaign in 2020. In 2020 the county voted 74% Republican.
I think it's a fair assumption this is the same guy, but his current party preference is unknown.

A heavy growth of Licorice Ferns growing in the moss on a very old Alder tree. The roots of the youngest can be chewed raw as a spicy sweet licorice treat or brewed into a medicinal tea for sore throat.
