Holyoake's was certainly NOT the last trial for blasphemy in the UK. The last was Whitehouse v Lemon (Gay News) in 1977 and several after the Holyoake trial (including Foote and the Freethinker) and before 1977.
'Great change can only be effected by unity.'

George Holyoake – 'the liberated blasphemer' – was an influential writer, editor, and coiner of the word ‘secularism’. He was also the last man to be tried by jury for blasphemy in England. He died #onthisday 1906.
