We had another saying for this - "slow roll until OBE." And that event was usually a new commander. Maybe these old timers remember a saying from when I served in the 1980s: you fuck the herd and the herd will fuck you. Let's see.

I've thought the best way forward was to ignore the culture war BS and focus on Trump's corruption, all his broken promises, and what Dems will do for all Americans. But I see your point here, too - decades of the GOP rebranding Dems has stuck with ~35% of voters. That has to also be fixed.

It's a pretty simple concept for anyone who is serving or has served. It's not an order to bash heads and open fire on people. SECDEF says your unit is going somewhere, you go, or else.

Your article skims over the fact the most veterans are older white men. I think these veterans transitioned from Dem to GOP from the '70s into the early '90s, and the majority are Trump supporters. The younger WOT veterans might be harder to define.
