Donald Trump incited a violent coup to overthrow the 2020 election and hold onto power. It will never be ok that he was not held accountable, including banning him from ever again holding public office.

Presidential oath: faithfully execute the laws. Yet another example of premeditated dereliction of duty, blatant failure to keep the oath, broadcast to all as administration policy. How many examples are required to satisfy impeachment charges in the House and sustain conviction in the Senate? #Oath
“…let’s not mistake this as a bold act by an American president making a serious decision for the good of the nation. This is dangerously reckless, illegal and impeachable action by a malignant despot desperate to be seen as a strong man.”

Kagan's dissent is scorching and worth reading in full. She calls out the majority for effectively overruling Humphrey's Executor on the shadow docket and allowing Trump to break the law without even awaiting the Supreme Court's permission. She is alarmed.

A man who holds the title of President of the United States, who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, who then says he doesn’t know if he’d uphold the Constitution, is unfit to be president and should be removed.

Trump is stumped when it comes to abiding by the Constitution.

Trump was asked on “Meet the Press” whether he believes that he needs to uphold the Constitution during his presidency. Casually dismissing the oath of office, Trump responded, “I don’t know.”

I’m still baffled at how America took one of the basic principles of the presidency — the occupant shouldn’t be able to benefit financially from the office — and just said, nah, that just doesn’t count for this one guy.

This May 22 dinner is a high crime and misdemeanor. A president of the United States can’t use the office to enrich himself in this way, from potentially anonymous donors for whom he might do favors. This is as textbook as corruption gets.

Congress must move to impeach
8/ This is a watershed moment, as Trump thumbs his nose at a Supreme Court ruling, gaslighting the public by pretending his won 9-0 when he lost 9-0.

Meanwhile, they'll work with Democrats to construct guardrails against dictatorship.
