Kansas City, Worked at KU Med for 30 years. Volunteers at KC Pet Project. Rides bikes. Reps the Chiefs and KU. Listens to lots of music--especially jazz. Life has been good, so far!!
Mark, This transports me back to some of the best 70s soul and R&B recordings. She doesn't sound like Patrice Rushen but she channels Patrice's energy and jazziness. Gotta figure out what other influences I'm hearing. I love this.

I also eagerly anticipate hearing how huge tax cuts to fat cats will pay for themselves. Do these folks have any other playbook??

I've never understood what's with all the f-bombs, bad hair cuts and bad facial hair on so many MAGA men. Not to mention the appalling choices of apparel. Sheesh!!

Darn it. I was looking forward to getting my eggs for 59cents a dozen on January 21st. I was gonna make a ton of egg salad. Maybe he'll drop the price of steak first? He promised food prices would decrease fast, didn't he?

Exactly right. One of the most deleterious effects from hammering Medicaid is its support for nursing homes. Yup Medicaid is what pays for middle class (and above) grannies and grampies to live with dignity in nursing homes. Who wants to tell grandma that Elon wants to put her on the streets.

I'm no expert in how the pardons will work. I do worry that all the pardons in the world won't help when a Trump minion declares that someone is guilty of treason (irrespective of the evidence) and has that person whisked off to some gulag. I hope the judicial system actually holds on.

No one in government with a lick of sense wants to tangle with the Senior lobby. Which is why budget cutting always goes after the powerless lobby: Medicaid, SNAP, food stamps. But cut $2trillion from the federal budget? Good luck with that bros.

Most of these payments, jobs and services are zealously guarded by the constituencies they serve. And in order to really make a dent in the federal budget, you have to take a blunt ax to earned benefits like Social Security and Medicare.

I'll be interested to see how the Doge bros try to implement their "mandate." Waste, fraud and abuse are useful concepts until you try to do something about them. You quickly realize that at the end of every federal dollar is an important job, a necessary service or a transfer payment.

Not just great music, but beautiful cover art. Classic Francis Wolff.
