My book uses the writings and perspectives of enlisted men in order to show that eighteenth-century battles were a negotiation of authority between officers and their men. The officers wanted the men to fight like they do in the movies. The men weren't having it. 8/20

It's ultimate aim is to whitewash the myriad of crime that rivals the Holocaust in Europe. Historians need to push back against this. Japan (as well as Germany & Italy) was never the victim of the War, & will never be

It's also interesting to note that arguments for victimisation of Japan are common in both the far left in the West & the far right in Japan. In all cases, it minimises the suffering of victims & places the blame of war on the United States

The only victims here are those of Nanking, Manila, Unit 731, Baatan Death March, Burma Railway, Comfort women, Sook Ching, & countless others who died due to disease & starvation under Japanese Occupation.
