Scot studying Irish history. Got no chutzpah, my organisational skills are lacklustre, and my timekeeping is abysmal. 🩷 💜 💙
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t care what politicians get up to in their private lives if it’s involving consenting adults

Ngl would love to see Scotland host a women’s RWC in the future

It was on UKTV but noticed they’re flogging a documentary that’s essentially “Stacey Dooley interviews Lily Philips” and to me that’s muscling in on the Channel 4/BBC Three venn diagram

Btw if we’re gonna have a Netflix series about the Guinness family just a little reminder that they didn’t employ Catholics in management positions until (I think?) the 1960s in their brewery. Also their family seat is somewhere in the Home Counties xo

Really the only underpinning idea that seems to be motivating government policy at the moment is one where the state is here to punish you before it is here to help you

Found an advert for the dream job and as much as the market had ground me down for the last 2 years
I just need to hope against hope I’ll at least get the chance to interview for it

It’s only now that I found out that The Bernard Shaw and Pygmalion (both Dublin bars) aren’t owned by the same people

Thomas Partey is due in court on his rape and sexual asault charges the same day Villarreal play Arsenal so I doubt we will see him at the Emirates.

Not sure Arsenal, assholes as they've been over this whole thing, would want the reaction he would get from the home fans.

A doctor has broken down under cross-examination in the Sandie Peggie tribunal because she is so terrified about a colleague's name being revealed. That's how toxic the coverage of this story has become.

Because of the proximity of the tribunal building to Dundee train station, I’ve had to walk past a couple of the media scrums re the NHS Fife tribunal and even as someone who has willingly put myself into hostile environments as an activist, my blood is up knowing what they are about to write

I have no horse in the hurling final but my god Cork fans are arrogant for a side that hasn’t won an All Ireland in 20 years

The Trump administration is actively trying to kill LGBTQ+ youth.

The UK is just one step behind following like a cowed dog.

We can't let our elected representatives drag us towards this.
This afternoon, the Trump administration officially shut down the LGBTQ Youth Specialized Services program within the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. The program allowed callers under 25 to speak with counselors trained to support LGBTQ youth, an option that has now been eliminated.

I do love posting a tweet in the binfire place about Kneecap and the sexual assault allegations and the reaction seeming to be “it’s a CIA/Mossad conspiracy”

You won, Villa. Enjoy the last 16, I hope it makes you very happy. Dear Lord, what a sad little life, Villa. You ruined my night completely so you can have the money. Use it on lessons in grace and decorum, for you have all the grace and decorum of a reversing dump truck without any tyres on.

The thing that sent me over the edge in relation to Twitter is that I’m being fed content from Elon that’s entirely UK based and calling for the return of capital punishment in relation to the Southport murders.

Unironically one of the (albeit minor) pros of doing a PhD is that I can finally go on University Challenge

The Irish version of “how often do you think about the Roman Empire” is the Easter Rising

Like ask a random Irish person how often they think about 1916 and they’ll probably be able to give you an answer

Not sure if I prefer the scenario of two Eoin Ó Broin’s from the same constituency (but different parties) going to the Dáil or the return of the Fuck You Deputy Stagg man

One for the politics sickos out there,

Paul Gogarty (of Fuck You Deputy Stagg fame) looks likely to get back into the Dáil Éireann after a 13 year break, this time as an independent (he was a Green last time round).
