With more folks over on this site now I just want to once again beg you all to stop reporting Palestinians posting their GFM campaigns as scams (and definitely do not encourage others to do so!).

Many Palestinians are finding themselves hidden or suspended off the site because of this. ⬇️
Once again bluesky is labeling REAL people as spam - this is a VETTED campaign. They have a modest goal of $10k and are a little over halfway there. Please give generously.

Tomorrow is Oct 7. As Israel continues its genocidal campaign in Gaza & invades Lebanon for the 3rd time in 42 yrs, as Iran & Israel start taking off the gloves, I find it so hard to be still for a minute, a moment, a single heartbeat to mourn our dead, to hold the survivors & hostages in my heart 💔

As I walked into Lowe’s today, I had to abruptly stop as a young boy sprinted just in front of me – giggling with delight, his parents struggling to keep up – toward the gigantic 9.75’ animatronic Bumble.

He was absolutely enraptured by this thing.

Preliminary numbers show that we have helped a personal record number of people July - September!
We once again blew past our monthly budget for September so we are going to be paused through the 14th while we assess finances and fully onboard our new intake line.

We will share the data with y’all once we have it compiled so you can see the impact.

Again, I’m less interested in learning who “You’re So Vain” is really about than in learning who “Brick House” is really about.
Clickbait headline found on some Web page:

"Carly Simon Finally Confirms
Who 'You're So Vain' Is Really About"

I don't need to click.

I know this song is about me.

I wrote a little bit about why the southeast's flooding was so, so bad in Hurricane Helene's wake.

The region saw an entire hurricane's worth of rain *before* the hurricane even made landfall in a phenomenon called a Predecessor Rain Event (PRE).

We’re without power in upstate SC, with no ETA on when it will come back on. But temps are mild, neighbors seem to be doing ok, and most of the big trees have been removed from roadways.

Seeing what’s going on in NC and TN really makes it seem like we got off easy.

It can't be overstated how much of an impact this storm will have far, far inland from where it makes landfall on the Florida Panhandle.

There are entire towns full of people who likely have no idea they're about to lose power for a week or longer.

Hurricane Helene will bring significant flash flooding and damaging winds hundreds of miles inland after landfall.

Tropical storm warnings are in effect for Atlanta, Greenville (SC), and Charlotte ahead of Helene's arrival.

Here's the latest over at my blog 👇

Extensive flooding rains and wind damage will accompany Hurricane Helene as it pushes inland Thursday and Friday.
