you can, actually, be sympathetic to the fact that much older, much wealthier men have very likely preyed on her since she was a teenager without referring to her getting a book contract and promotion to vanity fair as a lynching

i can't prove it (and thus won't grade them as such) but i am fairly certain the dozen or so students in my classes who have used he/him pronouns for heather ann thompson this week are doing so because the chatbot told them as much.
