If she's in a good mood (or if she's trying to get something she wants), she acts very airhead and bubbly. But under all of that, she's very deadpan and serious.
She loves exercise and being fit, but she definitely loves eating even more than being active.

I've never read Pratchett, but I've seen nothing but praise for him and his work.

There's a lot of good ones, and I don't want to mention any recent examples to avoid spoilers.
One of my favorites is from Supernatural. He's deadpan, but he seems like he cares about people. Also, he likes fried foods, which is the sort of unconventional characterization I like to see.

I judge on a case by case basis. Death from "Bill and Ted" has a scythe, but he's also a very fun character

I especially have this problem when it comes to mean/rude or dominant characters. Like, I hate seeing a character being also bashful and blushing when they would NOT do that if they were true to source...
