RIP to a legend.
Sad news: Legendary St. John’s coach Lou Carnesecca died today, Rick Pitino announced on Twitter. Carnesecca was 99 and one of the most important coaches in Big East history. College hoops became huge in the 1980s and so did his St. John’s teams, when the Big East ascended in the sport.
