🌱 My first time growing broccoli and never quite got the head of broccoli I was expecting. So I let it do its thing and this morning have some cute little yellow flowers.

I don't know why I thought my orange tree wasn't going to produce much fruit this year, but it has surely proved me wrong! 😍 🌱

My first attempt at growing them so I thought my brussel sprouts weren't going to produce but lo and behold! Tiny brussels have popped out! 😱🎉😍. 🌱

The devastation! My brussel sprouts were ruthlessly savaged by a very naughty rabbit. Today's project is putting up a barrier and hoping my plants aren't too badly affected. That's that gardening life! 🌱

The grapefruit appear to be doing quite well. If only I liked grapefruit 😂 🌱

Me coming outside every day anxiously checking to see if I can eat these celebrity tomatoes yet 👀 🌱

My first attempt at brussel sprouts. Brief whitefly scare but I'm feeling hopeful. RIP to the oregano planted in the center tho. I failed ye. 🌱

This is my purple beauty sweet pepper. I generally do minimal guidance for my plants so I can learn more about gardening and what they like. But I'm wondering - should I be trimming off a bunch of these flowers to make sure the peppers can grow...? Or is this plant just super happy with its life? 🌱

The shishitos have figured out how to shishito! I'm getting more than the teeny tiny ones now and some lovely green bell peppers this morning as well. Super excited to see the growth. Less excited that it's Monday morning... 🌱

Two more teeny tiny shishito peppers and the first sungold cherry tomato! The sungolds may be my absolute fave thing to grow because they're so tasty. I'd hoped more for the shishitos but the plants are out there flowering like crazy and living their best life so I can't be mad. 🌱

Ahhhh the satisfaction of seeing these bell peppers grow! 🌱

People say gardening is such a calming hobby. Meanwhile I'm out here like - who dug that hole? Why is this plant dying? Are those whiteflies!?! Is this mushroom that popped up overnight an issue?? Then I spend the next hour at Lowe's buying Neem oil and telling myself I can't have more plants. 🌱

Gaura - my fave plant of the moment! It dances around in the wind. It's vibrant. Bees and hummingbirds are drawn to it. And generally it makes me happy to look at it. 🌱

To those who said October was a fine time to plant Zinnias in zone 9b, I can only say things have not been going well... 😬. 🌱

My first shishito pepper gets an A for effort. 🌱

I was delighted to see a bee but it was nothing but a common drone fly. 🌱

I've discovered my garden has scorpions! In an ideal world, I'd get rid of the scorpions, not harm the lizards, and not harm my vegetables. Generally I like to let the ecosystem be but scorpions are a no-go for me. I'm hearing diatomaceous earth may be the way to go but seeking advice. 🌱
