This is from 2020. It’s a story that plays out every single day w/ our wild horses & burros rounded up b/c they eat grass & drink water ranchers believe belongs to their destructive, subsidized livestock. Thanks to Deb Haaland for allowing this to happen to them on her hideous watch.

For those who don’t know, Bureau of Land Management is doing mass roundups of wild horses & burros at the behest of the livestock industry. “Adopters” are paid $1000 for each animal & receive the title after 1 year. Many of these “adopters” then sell them for slaughter & make even more 💰
