Before it was a hellscape, the other place was useful for calling out companies behaving badly.
Like thematchmakingcompany.com grifting from desperately lonely octogenarians .

I know nothing about the kerfuffle except for the headline about how The British Left Waffles Over Falklands.

I fear knowing more will leave me very disappointed even if it is fascinating history.
argentina normally: argentina is a white european island amongst the mongrel hordes of the new world

argentina when the falklands are mentioned: excuse me, the falklands are part of the greater argentinian indigenous co-prosperity sphere, it does not belong to the british kkkolonizers
me normally: yeah the UK needs to take a second look at their international history in 20th century politics, especially during the Suez Crisis

me on the Falklands: RULE BRITANNIA

HAHAHAHA! My hoarding is justified!

All you "why do you have so many cookbooks when you can just look up recipes on-line" folks can suck it!
NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

As someone who rode public transit while vastly gravid this delights me. (it isn't actually a study that implies a pragmatic solution and they didn't try with other characters...but still.)
Science will often take you to unexpected and delightful places. In this study, researchers hypothesized that riders in a crowded subway car would be more likely to offer their seat to a pregnant person if there were someone in the subway car dressed as Batman 🧪🦇

I feel seen!
Us Gen X women are in our werewolf era. We’re growing hair in places we don’t want + changing shape fast & hot. Not to mention occasional bloodbaths & spending most of our time incandescently furious. Perimenopause = lycanthropy. You can’t tell me otherwise.

The museum is on lockdown too (due to proximity).
Heh, we not be able to keep water out when it rains, but it does mean the kids are all inside right now and we are a giant cement bunker.

Ask Bay Area folks how this worked with conservative money funding the recall of two DAs who were elected because of their promises to hold cops accountable.
My political hot take is that US voters should be able to recall elected representatives via petition - at any time.
No more hiding behind election terms.

Bay area folks, was that an earthquake? I heard it, but felt nothing, The gent said he felt something, maybe?

Gallagher is such a git. I mean did he even look at a list of California counties by GDP before this proposal or is it just conservative purity grandstanding? Sure turning yourself into a fiscal Alabama to own the libs seems like a great plan!
