Blooms are beginning to open on the cholla. I've read that each bloom only lasts a day. The bees are all over it but wouldn't stay still for a pic. 😊🐝🌱

My geraniums from cuttings last fall. Finally adjusting to the real sun instead of purple lights. The old leaves turned purple in the sun but the new ones are green with purple variegation. They bloomed in the winter but under the lights the blooms looked yellow. 🙂🌱
Zonal geranium, Fantasia Salmon. Pelargonium x hortorum Bright salmon pink flowers. The larger leaves are dark purple and rather tagged. The new leaves are green with purple variegation.

Planting day! Thanks to my newly met gardening neighbor the dirt that was on my driveway is now in my raised beds.
Preparing to plant in tall metal raised beds. Plant starts in red solo cups are placed around. This bed gets tomatoes and basil. Tomatoes and basil planted. Basil is lettuce leaf and Genovese. Tomatoes are gardener's delight, Amish paste, san marzano and Paul Robeson. Hot peppers went in these two beds. Joe E Parker (New Mexico red chili) in the back. Two jalapenos in front, one standard and one a lemon spice. Along the front trellis I planted cucumber seeds, Beit Alpha and Hossinator pickling cukes.

There are a couple of large tree "stumps" in my new yard. I decided to try planting some succulents in them.
A section of a large tree trunk which had cavities. These have been planted with 2 varieties of sempervivum and a small tricolor sedum. Another section of tree with a larger sedum that looks a bit sad right after planting. Also another sempervivum. I got a variety pack of succulents shipped to me and was disappointed that they didn't include a list of what they sent. They were all healthy and well packed though

2 days ago it was 80°f. Guess winter wasn't quite ready to leave. 🥶

The wisteria in my new front yard is blooming. I have mixed feelings. On the one hand it's white, I would have liked purple. On the other hand it really is spectacular. I'm relieved that my prune job was successful. 🌱

I'm starting to believe that last week's cold snap was winter's last gasp. Now it's the race to get my raised beds set up and filled while hardening off my seedlings. 🌱

Went to the plant nursery for "a few things I need" and blew my budget. I did have 2 of these pots already but added the blue ceramic and all 3 plants. Also got a "Jurassic Park" iris that looks really healthy. And the lettuce seeds and other things I went for. 🌱

I have mostly peppers so far plus one tomato that is more finicky to start than average. Also, experimented with some winter crops with mixed success. I planted the top 2 tiers with various old lettuce seeds and only the merlot sprouted. Also radishes harvested last fall.
Pepper and tomato seedlings under grow lights. Greenstalk planter with Merlot lettuce, spinach, carrots and bunching onions. Other side of greenstalk, shijimisi, chard and cilantro.

First seedlings up. Front right - Alabama Blue Collards, in the back - Paul Robeson tomatoes. If you look closely, the three rows on the left have sprouts just starting to show. They are all peppers, Mama Mia, NuMex Joe E Parker and NuMex Lemon Spice. 🌱
Seed starting trays with sprouts obvious in a few cells.
