Also a bunch of libraries are pulping way more than half of their books to give spaces for people just to look at their phones. There’s a mutilation happening and the thinking is that they’re more “community hubs” than libraries. I’m calling these wannabe bookless places ‘vibaries’

What they don’t get is making the club better for the girls makes the club better for everyone.

100% - the league would prefer it if the AFLW players were just grateful for a chance to play a few games a year and then stopped bringing up inconvenient things like the length of the season, the lack of facilities, the timing of the season, the difference in pay etc etc.

Yeah that’s fucked. It’s pretty clear the AFL treats the AFLW as an obligation rather than an opportunity. The inclusion of female players has made the game better at every level of participation but the league just sees the peak competition as a problem.
